What To Do
Montrose Theatre is a historic single-screen cinema and community venue located at 38 Public Avenue in Montrose, Pennsylvania. It has served as a local entertainment landmark for more than a century, offering both film screenings and community events in the heart of Susquehanna County.
Woodbourne Forest And Wildlife Preserve is one of the most beautiful and ecologically significant outdoor destinations in Northeastern Pennsylvania, located just outside Montrose in Dimock Township. The 648-acre preserve is known for its ancient old-growth forests, wetlands, streams, meadows, wildlife habitats, and scenic hiking trails throughout the Endless Mountains region. Originally donated to The Nature Conservancy in 1956 as its first preserve in Pennsylvania, the property is now managed by the Edward L. Rose Conservancy and remains open to the public year-round from dawn to dusk.
Horseback riding is a popular activity in and around Montrose thanks to the area’s rolling farmland, mountain scenery, and rural Endless Mountains landscape. The region offers riding lessons, boarding, trail riding, and equestrian facilities for both beginners and experienced riders. One of the best-known local facilities is OWLS NEST RIDING CENTER, which offers horseback riding lessons, training, boarding, and family-friendly equestrian experiences just outside downtown Montrose.
